Smile Politely

A movie about art shown in an Art Museum? Genius. And it’s free.

Thanks to the cooperation of Krannert Art Museum and the Program in Jewish Culture and Society, C-U has one fewer boring Monday night. On Sept. 21st at 5:30 p.m., Woman in Gold, a true story of one woman’s lengthy battle to win back her family’s Klimt painting, will be screened for free in the KAM Auditorium. Author and professor Lisa Silverman will introduce the film, and conduct a discussion with Maureen Warren, KAM’s newest curator, afterwards.

It doesn’t take much to get me to watch either Helen Mirren or Ryan Reynolds, throwing in art history, legal drama, and World War II is just gravy.

Krannert Art Museum is on 6th & Peabody, and the auditorium is on the lower level. Introductory remarks begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21st.
