Seventy Clifford-Jacobs workers were locked out due to stalled contract negotiations when they arrived at work yesterday morning.
The employees, members of three different unions — the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers; and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers — said they rejected a company offer on Monday that included no wage increases for four years, plus reduced company health insurance and pension contributions.
This afternoon Clifford-Jacobs employees and other friends of labor are picketing at 2410 N 5th Street in Champaign.
