If you need to relax and reconnect with your body, consider checking out this movement workshop hosted by Lailye Weidman on campus tomorrow (Thursday) December 3 from 1 – 2:30 p.m.
The event will take place in Temple Hoyne Buell Hall (611 E. Lorado Taft Dr. in Champaign).
From the event description:
We will explore community building, conflict, discomfort, interdependency, permission and decision-making through methods based in dance, theatre and improvisational techniques.
Lailye Weidman is a dance maker, currently based in Urbana, IL, where she is a teaching fellow and MFA Candidate at the University of Illinois. Her recent projects include a site-specific performance and community dialogue at the Herring River in Wellfleet MA; co-producing an interdisciplinary convergence for artists who work with notions of place; and a collaborative duet performed outside through all seasons. She was a resident artist with iLAB in 2012, investigating arial-mapping and choreographing with urban wind-patterns. Lailye also serves as a contributing editor for Contact Quarterly, a biannual journal of improvisation and performance.
