Champaign’s Unit 4 School District will be hosting an expo to cap off the end of the year for their Young Entrepreneurship Program, which paired 14 high schoolers with business leaders who were working on startups. Tomorrow, they will convene at Research Park to showcase what they’ve accomplished. More details can be found below.
From Unit 4:
This spring, 14 Unit 4 high school students have been working with local business leaders to create and launch start-up companies as part of the Young Entrepreneurship Program (YEP). Tomorrow night (5/17), they will showcase their work as part of the YEP Expo in the atrium of EnterpriseWorks located in the University of Illinois Research Park (60 Hazelwood Drive, Champaign) from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
YEP allows Unit 4 High School students the opportunity to conceptualize, develop, and even launch a start-up company. Through the program, with the help of local entrepreneurial mentors, each student has the opportunity to learn about and complete his/her own business plan and then showcase his/her business idea in front of the community in the form of an Expo.
