Tonight Watson’s Shack and Rail will be hosting a fundraising event to raise money for Nepal. Put together by locals Shagun Kumar Pradhan and Ben Chantos, the event will feature art and music as well as food and fire dancing. Dozens of local businesses have contributed raffle prizes and there will be a live auction featuring work from local artists. Pradhan has family from Nepal and, since the earthquake that took place back in April of 2015, he has made it a personal mission to help the Nepalese people. He gained national media attention when he rode his bicycle from Urbana to San Francisco last summer. He is traveling to Nepal in September to work directly with displaced families and provide them with financial support using the profits from the event.
