Earlier this Summer, we posted about how the University of Illinois’ Japan House would be hosting a Japanese Matsuri Festival in late August (the 28th, to be exact) and today, they are calling for volunteers to help out with the festival.
For information on how to volunteer, and just what it will entail, check out more information from Japan House here:
Mark your calendars for our second annual Japanese festival, MATSURI, on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. It will be bigger and better—more food, more drink, more volunteers, more fun!
If you were here last year, then you know we were almost overwhelmed with unexpected crowds….so this year one of our top priorities is MORE VOLUNTEERS! We are reaching out to see if you might be interested in helping us out. There will be many ways to assist us: selling tickets, assisting artists, clean up and set up and take down, running errands, driving golf carts….there will be LOTS to do!
As a thank you for volunteering you will receive a Matsuri t-shirt and an invitation to our afterparty!
If you think you might be able to help out, please email japanhouse@illinois.edu with your name and email (and any special requests, such as ‘cannot stand for long’ ‘only after 3:00 pm’ etc). We will then contact you with further information. If you have ALREADY contacted us you do not need to do so again. Please feel free to also contact us with any questions! As always, Japan House could never begin to do what we do without our generous community of supporters.
