Independent Media Center’s Open Scene is “a project to reimagine downtown Urbana through arts-based dialogues led by youth.” IMC is seeking four artists for Open Scene to take on the roles of instructors, and lead arts workshops for groups of youth aged 16-24. The workshops will focus on themes of social justice and community development cultivated through art. They will take place over weekends in the months of February through April, 2017.
Selected artists will receive a stipend to pay for food and lodging and transportation to and from Urbana. Members from all disciplines of art are welcome to apply.
For more information and to apply, visit the project’s webpage. The deadline for artists to apply is Dec. 5.
