The recently disbanded C-U staple Withershins dropped a surprise album on Christmas, intended as a holiday gift. Released through band member Isaac Arms and Heirship Records, Withershinned is a cover album, featuring takes on classic songs by The Cure, Spiritualized, Stone Roses and more. Most of the tracks chosen for the cover album are from artists closely aligned with Withershins’ guitar-driven shoegaze sound, but the band put new spins on the tracks regardless, offering up more than just straight-forward covers.
The album is available through the band’s bandcamp page, and all donations for it will go to support the organization Girls Rock C-U (which, by the way, has just announced their first official show).
