Five thousand Champaign-Urbanians showed up Saturday to voice their displeasure with the current administration and their solidarity with each other. Six local speakers rallied the crowd and expressed their validity as humans and their unwillingness to be silenced. For every person attending to walk the six-block loop from West Side Park to Neil Street and back took over two hours, but it was filled with car-honks of support and finished marchers standing on the sidelines participating in chants. For an event that was hoping to attract 200 participants, the community’s response was overwhelming and encouraging.
