Every year the School of Dance at U of I, hosts a festival that presents a variety of films and short films that showcase the art, influence, and culture of dance. This year, the Flatlands Dance Film Festival will be held September 1-2.
Day 1 of the fest will present the film Bronx Gothic, a portrait of writer and performer Okwui Okpokwasili.
Day 2 will consist of the Short Film Competition in which the following films will be presented:
Exquisite Corps (USA), The Glasshouse (England), From Dirt (Curacao), COLD (Germany), Send Me a Bigger Butter (Germany), Contiguity (Finland), MAGO (Republic of Korea), Aquarius (Russian Federation), Shaping Scars (United Kingdom), Stopgapin Stop Motion (United Kingdom), Platform 13 (Belgium/Netherlands)
Tickets for the festival are $10/general and $5/students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
