There’s another hotel coming to Downtown Champaign: Hotel Vib by Best Western. It’ll be a boutique hotel located just south of Wedge and just north of the Hill Street Parking Garage.
In cased you missed it, the development that was supposed to happen nearby shifted south.
Construction will begin in 2017 or 2018 and the project will be finished in 2019, officials said. It will require no financial assistance from the city but will be located in a tax-increment-financing district.

Hotel Vib (pronounced “vibe”) will take over the current city parking lot at 401 N. Neil St. — less than two blocks from the 145-room Hyatt Place, which opened at the intersection of Neil, Main and Church streets in June 2014.
