The Channing Murray Foundation at the University of Illinois was vandalized on Friday, January 26th. CMF’s mission “is to provide educational opportunities to explore Unitarian-Universalism spirituality, reflect our concern for social justice, and affirm diversity through outreach to the campus community of Urbana-Champaign.”
The tl;dr version: one, or a group of students, damaged a wayside pulpit (the enclosed sign box near the sidewalk with posted announcements) in an attempt to remove the Black Lives Matter signage held within. One student was cited for criminal damage to property.
Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois shared a lengthy post on Facebook on behalf of the Channing Murray Foundation.
