From the press release:
City of Champaign to Celebrate Public Service Recognition Week – May 6-12
The City of Champaign will proudly celebrate Public Service Recognition Week May 6-12, 2018. A national event, Public Service Recognition Week honors the devotion and commitment of those who serve our country at the local, county, state, and federal level. The City will use this opportunity to honor our employees for their hard work and dedication, to promote team building, and to give back to our community.
“Champaign’s residents are fortunate to be served by a caring and committed team of City employees,” said Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen. “They ensure our public’s safety, build and maintain our streets and infrastructure, plan for our City’s sustainable growth, and responsibly manage the resources needed to operate our wonderful city. I hope Champaign’s residents will join me in thanking City staff for their hard work and dedication during Public Service Recognition Week.”
Several team building activities are planned for the week, including a food and personal care item collection drive, and a community service project where City staff will have the opportunity to work on a Habitat for Humanity home build.
