Beginning June 3rd, the Spurlock Museum will be hosting weekly family-friendly Summer Sunday events from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Each month will focus on a specific theme: precious metals, planets and stars, and plants. The third Sunday of each month will feature an arts exploration. Here are the details from their Facebook event:
This summer, we’re exploring the natural world with three month-long series of programs on precious metals (June), planets & stars (July), and plants (August). We’ll look at the ways different cultures have used natural resources, explained natural phenomena, and found inspiration in the world around them. Examine artifacts, join in songs and stories, and dig into sample materials. Experts from around town and campus will offer demonstrations and discussions. All programs are free and available on a drop-in schedule.
The third Sunday of each month is an Arts Exploration, offering visitors an opportunity to create a different special art project.
