Like many people, in the summer I become a person who spectates. Each week I support and cheer on my loved one who participates in organized sporting activities. I use this outing as an excuse to eat my favorite foods (hence the recent SPlogs of food in take out packaging).
Maize is a go-to; it’s especially easy to get in and out of the Green Street location in during the summer. I’m in a very serious relationship with the veggie huarache, but on my last visit I opted for the volcan al pastor ($3.50). The crunchy tortilla (a tostada) makes for easy eating outdoors — you don’t need utensils. Topped with cilantro and onion, plus your choice of meat, it’s extra delicious becuase there’s also some grilled cheese on it. Imagine an open-faced hard taco with some yummy cheese. Pair it with some watermelon water, and you have yourself a nice little meal.
