Former Illini star Vontae Davis straight up retired at halftime this weekend

I remember watching Vontae Davis play at Illinois back during the Rose Bowl era Illinois Football program was absolutely stacked with NFL prospects. Davis was one of those stars on that team, going on to spend 10 years in the NFL with various teams.

This weekend, Davis called it, and actually retired at halftime of the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Chargers on Sunday. Typically, players… you know… retire at the end of the season, or retire during the season due to injury, or something else. So this is definitely unconventional, but honestly, amazing in my opinion.
