We got a taste of colder temperature this weekend, and soon that will be our daily reality. Cunningham Township, an entity that operates within the City of Urbana to serve Urbana residents who are are struggling to meet their basic needs, is asking for donations of coat and warm winter gear to help those they serve have what they need to combat the cold during the winter. Here are the specifics:
Cunningham Township serves about 500 extremely low income residents of Urbana, many who are homeless or lack the resources to pay for winter gear. Please donate your new or gently used coats, hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, and sweatshirts. Drop them off ANY time either inside the township or outside in the plastic bin by the door. Anyone in need can come by 8:30-12 or 1-4:30 to shop for gear.
Cunnigham Township is located at 205 W. Green Street in Urbana.
