This is the 21st year that Champaign Outdoors (formerly Champaign Surplus) will be screening a collection of films from the Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, and also the 21st year that they will be donating the proceeds from ticket sales to local non-profit.
Local community-based organizations can submit applications until February 13th, then the staff will narrow the applicants to three, then the community will be able to vote on who they’d like to get it. Here are the guidelines:
For consideration for this grant, your organization must be a non-profit group or event and be community or regionally based. If you meet both of these criteria, preference will be given to organizations that support getting youth participants active in the outdoors, environmental or wildlife conservation, historical or cultural endeavors, local veterans and/or service members, or overall community service and wellness.
You can find the application, as well as more information about the film screening on April 9th at the Art Theater and the Mountainfilm Festival here.
