Sure, it is only September. But that means just two months until it’s acceptable to listen to holiday music and drink peppermint mochas, and just two months until the 19th Annual Champaign Center Parade of Lights. From Champaign Center Partnership:
“This year’s parade theme is Winter Wonderland, a celebration of snowmen, sleigh bells and all things that make the holiday season special. Bring your loved ones to this festive event that includes free activities for kids and entertainment for the whole family. Pre-parade activities begin at 3:00 p.m. and will include Visits with Santa, horse and carriage rides, a kids’ scavenger hunt to local businesses on Small Business Saturday, and musical entertainment. The event concludes with a tree lighting ceremony in One Main Plaza following the parade.”
Parade space is limited, so if you are a business, organization, club, or civic group that wants a slot, early sign up is encouraged. Plus, if you register before October 31st, it’s just $50 for businesses and $35 for nonprofits. After that they jump to $100 for businesses and $50 for nonprofits. Deadline to register is November 22nd, unless all of the spaces fill up first. Also, your entry will need to have lights. I mean, this should be obvious right?
