Japan House is hosting their annual Fall Open House on Saturday, October 19th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be multiple opportunities to take part in a tea ceremony, but go ahead and get some tickets now because these usually fill up fast. You can do that here.
Beside the tea ceremonies, they have invited Tangerine Mountain Imports & Designs owners Cheri Santellano and Teri Noto to speak at 1 p.m. You can find them every year at Matsuri with traditional Japanese clothing and other items for sale, and they will be talking about their experiences bringing “traditional Japanese clothing to as many parts of the USA as possible.” There will also be a fashion show featuring Japan House interns, and you can check out their pop up shop while you’re there. All of that begins at 1 p.m.
And of course, take the opportunity to tour the house, admire the student-created ikebana arrangements, and wander the grounds in the crisp fall weather.
