The Champaign County Clerk’s office is looking for some folks to become election judges for the 2020 election, which we know is going to be a doozy.
Here are the things you need to know before you sign up:
- You would serve from at least 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day and are compensated $200 for your work.
- Must be willing to work in a different precinct other than the one you live in.
- May be required to pick up supplies and set up the polling place before the polls open.
- May be required to drive, or escort as a passenger, supplies back to the Election Supply Building after the polls close.
- May need to serve as a nursing home judge at a nursing home location.
Even high school juniors and seniors (with at least a 3.0 GPA) can be election judges at their schools (read: as long as your school is cool with it, you get to miss class to do your civic duty)!
All interested community members can fill out the application here.
