Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities and the Creative Writing program are bringing a year’s worth of renowned writers to C-U for the Year of Creative Writers. From their announcement:
“It’s a veritable feast for the eyes and ears: public poetry readings, writers-in-residence and conversations formal and informal with some of the most visionary artists of our time.”
The series of readings and discussions will span all three U of I campuses, and include authors such as Anna Deveare-Smith, Luis Alberto Urrea, and Roxane Gay. You can find the full list of featured authors, as well as the C-U events here. All events are free and open to the public.
