I’ve been on a trying-out-new-coffee-drinks kick the past couple of weeks, and really enjoyed these options from Avionics and Caffe Paradisio.
At Avionics I tried the Harvest Moon (shown above). It’s a latte with saffron, maple syrup, and sea salt. None of those flavors took over, which made the drink a nice subtle blend that was not too sweet, but was a little more complex than a plain old latte.

This is the Mayan Mocha from Caffe Paradisio, which is a traditional mocha with the addition of cinnamon, cayenne, and vanilla syrup. I opted out of the vanilla syrup; I figured the chocolate would provide plenty of sweetness. The cinnamon was a nice addition to the flavor, and after each sip my mouth felt pleasantly warm from the cayenne. It was not overbearing, just a touch of heat.
Also, check out those lovely foam patterns the baristas created. Something about them just brightens my mood, especially on these chilly gray days.
