Ebertfest 2020 is scheduled for April 15-18, and though we are still anticipating the release of the full film schedule, they have released the films and related guests that will be opening and closing the festival.
The opening film will be a remastered version of The Cotton Club, starring Richard Gere, Gregory Hines, and Diane Lane. Screenwriter William Kennedy will be doing a Q&A following the film. In addition, Kathryn Bostic, the first African American female composer to be admitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be there to perform with a jazz trio.
There’s Something About Mary, starring Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, and Matt Dillon will be closing the festival. Bobby Farrelly*, half of the Farrelly brothers directing team, will be there for the Q&A.
Festival passes are available for purchase now, and individual tickets will go on sale April 1st.

*Editor’s note: The initial press release said that Peter Farrelly would be the featured guest. Bobby Farrelly will be the guest. The Splog has been edited to correct the error.
