Attorney Susan McGrath defeated Robert Burkhalter for the Democratic nomination for Champaign Circuit Clerk. She will face current clerk Katie Blakeman in the November general election.
If you’re unfamiliar with the work of the circuit clerk (not to be confused with the county clerk), it is the office in charge of court records. They keep circuit court records, collect fines, and they are also the folks who help you get your passport.
