Last week we shared that Lodgic Kids Camp would be open for childcare while schools were closed. Now, all of Lodgic Everyday Community will be closed at least through April 3rd. Here is their statement:
Our original goal at Lodgic Everyday Community was to stay open and serve modern working families through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. However, our rapidly evolving perspective is that the more quickly we shelter in place as a nation, the quicker we’ll get through this together, healthy and whole.
So, as a leadership team, we now believe that Lodgic can best serve the Champaign-Urbana community by heeding expert advice on social distancing and temporarily closing our property at end of business today through at least April 3rd. We will assess the current recommendations at that time and determine whether we will re-open or extend our temporary closure.
All Lodgic Kids Camp families can expect their packages and weekly passes to be placed on hold and extended so they can enjoy their full use when we reopen. Lodgic Workplace members can expect billing for their monthly memberships to be suspended, and any remaining credit for this month to be extended for future use. We look forward to working through any questions or concerns upon reopening.
We are choosing to exercise extreme caution by temporarily closing the property. Our leadership team will continue to work remotely and behind the scenes to preserve their physical and mental health, as well as to prepare Lodgic for a thriving comeback once this crisis is past us.
We are extremely proud of the resilience our staff has demonstrated as this situation quickly escalated over the last week and a half. They worked with the utmost compassion and professionalism. There has been a beautiful display all across this property of what it means to have a servant’s heart.
We’re also extremely proud of the thriving, compassionate community that our members, families, restaurant and event patrons, community partners, and staff have built over the last year and a half since we opened the first-ever Lodgic Everyday Community, right here in Champaign. To all — we thank you for catching the Lodgic vision and co-creating it into reality. We can’t wait to welcome you back and serve you once again when we reopen.
Given the nature of the situation we are in, we’d like to leave anyone reading our statement with this… At Kids Camp, we teach Six Big Moose Heart Values: Empathy, Caring, Respect, Kindness, Responsibility, and Service. Please remember to have a Big Moose Heart in this moment; we could all use it.
We look forward to the day this is behind us. Thank you and be well.
