Watson’s Shack and Rail is back open today, April 21st. They will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for curbside only. You can call 217-607-0168 to place your order. They only have one phone line, so be patient when you call in.
You can take a look at their updated menu here. They’re serving up favorites like Watson’s fried chicken sandwich, Nashville Hot, and Chelsea’s Shameless Plea. Additionally, Watson’s offers a Family Picnic Deal for $50 which includes a half fried bird, half roasted bird, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, cooked apples, and two sauces.
I talked with General Manager Ian Willette who said:
“We can do curbside orders. We have the loading zone across the street by Jane Addams Bookstore, and there’s also one loading zone spot on Park Street on the corner of Park and Neil.
We also can have people come in to pick up orders. We’ll have it blocked off, so you’re not getting into the dining room. We have some blue tape on the floor for the whole six feet thing. Hand sanitizer for our guests as well, so they can be safe. We are going to be masked up and gloved up and all that stuff.”
Sounds like a great option for lunch or dinner this week.
