C-U Oktoberfest is going virtual this year

No, it won’t be the same. Dancing around ridiculously with a bunch of strangers, many wearing lederhosen, while you carb load with pretzels and beer is best done in person. Regardless, Oktoberfest is an important fundraiser for Developmental Services Center, which is continuing to do good work in C-U throughout this pandemic.

Tune in to their Facebook page on October 2nd at 4 p.m. for a live raffle basket drawing, and on October 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. for “music from bands playing festive polkas, waltzes, and traditional German music mixed in with plenty of your favorite songs on Saturday night, as well as other featured content throughout the evening.”

They will be recommending brews and food for pick up, or maybe you’ll be inspired to create your own Oktoberfest feast at home. You can certainly still wear your lederhosen or dirndl, and dance around your living room. I bet you might even still have some mugs from previous years. The evening will culminate with a 50/50 raffle.

Follow C-U Oktoberfest on Facebook to stay up to date on how you can be involved.
