The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting and CU-CitizenAccess.org have compiled a list of COVID-19 outbreaks in Champaign County, using previously unreleased data from the state of Illinois specifying which events and locations caused the outbreaks.
You can read the entire article here.
The outbreaks do not include any cases at or related to the University of Illinois, though those cases account for nearly half of all cases in Champaign County. Among the worst outbreaks were the ones at Rantoul Foods, Reflections Memory Care by the Villas of Holly Brook in Savoy, and the unofficial prom in Mahomet.
All of this should serve as a reminder that this pandemic is not over, and we must remain vigilant about mask wearing and physically distancing.
