Allerton Park and Retreat Center announced their Artist-in-Residence program in November. Illinois alumnus John E. Bannon is the inaugural resident artist; he designed some of the lighted features in the Winter Wellness Walk.
Applications for the Fall 2021 residency will be accepted until March 31st, and the residency will begin in November. From the website:
Residencies of two to six weeks will allow uninterrupted time for artists to explore their ideas, immerse themselves in the serene surroundings of the Park, and engage with our central Illinois communities. Sculptors, photographers, painters, printmakers, installation artists, videographers, sound artists, writers and poets, preforming artists, and more are invited to apply to live onsite and create site-inspired artwork, temporary installations, or performance projects.
