Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana will take in refugee children arriving at the Southern US border. Fox Illinois shared this story last week, and according to the article:
This is a part of the the Unaccompanied Children program, which aims to give youth a home and an opportunity to legally immigrate into the country. Through this program, the children’s home received a grant from the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement. The grant will provide the residential and educational expenses for the children at the children’s home.
This is wonderful news for these children, who have fled terrible conditions in their home countries. Children will stay at Cunningham until they can be placed in sponsored homes.
