If you fancy yourself a bit of an actor, Carle College of Medicine is ready to pay you to help their students make diagnoses. They are looking for more “patients” for their simulated patient program. It’s a paid position, and level of pay depends on the level of invasiveness the “patient” is willing to participate in. From the press release:
SPs are interviewed and examined, just as you would be by your family doctor, by male and female medical students. SPs may see students one-to-one, or with a group of medical students working in a controlled teaching session. SPs will be trained to accurately and consistently recreate the history, personality, physical findings, and emotional structure and response pattern of an actual patient.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and the deadline for applying is June 30th, though they will continue to take applications until the positions are filled. You can find all of the details, and process for applying at their website.
