Nurses? Check. Throw Me The Statue? Check. Starfucker? Check. The Daredevil Christopher Wright? Check. Courtyard Café has been providing a musical buffet all semester, and they haven’t let the ball drop yet.
Tomorrow night Chicago band Yourself & The Air will be gracing the Courtyard stage with special guest Jet W. Lee. The band is currently on tour and will be joining The Republic Tigers for the eastern leg.
There’s something heartwarming about five friends from Chicago who make good enough music to tour around the States with their band. It pulls at strings I never knew I had.
The vocals mix screaming and singing to blend with a beautiful cacophony of instrumentation. They also seem like the kind of guys who would love to mingle after the show, go out for a beer afterward and play 20 questions – just the way we like ’em.
Everyone who has seen them live is practically throwing him/herself at them, and begging the band to sign with a label. This cannot be a bad sign. Go to Courtyard tomorrow night at 8 to see what all the fuss is about.
