WHAT: Santah, Easter, Midstress
WHERE: Cowboy Monkey ($7)
WHEN: Thursday, December 8th at 9:30 p.m.
This may be your last chance to catch Easter for quite some time, as they’re apparently headed into the studio to record a follow up to this past spring’s Demonstration in the new year. This is also one of Midstress’ first shows since releasing Growing Up is Getting Old (look out for a review on Thursday) and Santah’s first time in town for several months.
WHAT: The Daredevil Christopher Wright, Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps, Iron Tigers
WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($5)
WHEN: Thursday, December 8th at 9:30 p.m.
One of those regional groups that stop through town every so often, Eau Claire’s The Daredevil Christopher Wright play airy indie-pop that bears no small resemblance to Urbana’s own Very Secretary. Also on the bill are Minneapolis’ Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps, as well as locals Iron Tigers.
WHAT: Psychic Twin, Kirkwood West, Forgottonia Secedes, Blueprints for a Future Technology, Anna Karina, Harsh
WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($5)
WHEN: Friday, December 9th at 9:00 p.m.
One of the more interesting lineups we’ve seen in quite some time. Blueprints for a Future Technology features members of Mordechai in the Mirror (remember them?) and Anna Karina consists of a noise set by Take Care’s Luke Bergkoetter, all topped off by a rare Psychic Twin set and live video by Harsh.
WHAT: That’s No Moon, Faster Forward, Vaudevillians
WHERE: Cowboy Monkey ($5)
WHEN: Saturday, December 10th at 9:30 p.m.
That’s No Moon recently released their debut album, which is pretty great. They’ll be playing New Year’s Eve at Mike ‘N Molly’s, but if you’re jetting off to somewhere exotic (or the suburbs) for break, then this will be your last chance to catch them this year.
