Eleni Moraites and Paige Leubchow are two locals who focus on folk with pop sensibilities. It’s not clear to me if they are playing at the same time or two different sets, but either way this should be nice way to relax and enjoy some wine after a hard day at work.

WHAT: Nature’s Table Reunion Show

From 1979-1991, Nature’s Table was a restaurant/local music venue/culural hub that hosted a wide variety of musical acts. For the last four years many of the bands that played there have gotten together for reunion shows to celebrate the venue. This year’s lineup features a jazz reunion event at The Iron Post and will include Traditional Jazz Orchestra, the Jack Webb Band and the Kelly Brand Quartet. The Saturday event will be held at Cowboy Monkey and include The Freak Brothers and a reunion of The Mudhens, who play the blues.
WHAT: Shipwreck, A Light Sleeper, Olde Scratch, Take Care

Before they split up a little over two years ago, the dark rock quartet Shipwreck was among the three or four most popular bands in town. This week they’re getting together for a show before singer/guitarist John Owen officially starts law school somewhere in the great yonder. Chicago’s kid-friendly A Light Sleeper and locals Take Care open things up. And I don’t know much about Olde Scratch, except that it contains some of the guys in The Dirty Feathers that aren’t in Shipwreck. Perhaps they are a Peace Beach cover band?
