Cody & The Gateway Drugs filled the seats at Krannert on Thursday, Apr. 9, 2015, launching this year’s Boneyard Arts Festival. Band members Cody Cody Sokolski, Jenny Forshey-Carpenter, Jeff Carpenter, and Keith “Rowdy” Norton skipped a planned intermission and played a two hour set that left the audience wanting to hear more. Along with promoting the recent release of their LP Songs For The New Depression, the group played older original material and even threw in a few covers. The combined storytelling between Cody’s lyrics and the personal insights he shared between songs about the state of our country certainly gave the crowd something to think about.
