WHERE: LGBT Resource Center (323 Illini Union)

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 15, 2:00 p.m.

A film screening and discussion about the film Come Out, Come Out. Coming Out is not always easy. Teenagers can be experts at talking circles about what’s really on their minds, and usually it is the weighted spaces between those words that speak volumes. In a rainbow of tales, a young college student comes out to his parents on the phone, a nice southern boy comes out to his family during a Christmas holiday gathering, and a three-way conversation between suburban men speaking honestly about the very difficult issues of being young and gay.

WHAT: Same Sex Sunday Podcast

WHERE: Right here. And also here.

WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010

Rick Jacobs and Arisha Hatch of the Courage Campaign, and frequent guest, Open Left’s Adam Bink joined Joe and Phil to discuss the California leg of the National Organization for Marriage’s hateful bus tour. They also chatted about the tactics NOM is using to try to deceive California’s Latino community into voting against a fair California.

Those participating in the round table discussion were: Chairman of the Board of directors of LGBT Conservative group GOProud, Chris Barron; Field and Development Director of Servicemembers United, Jarrod Chlapowski; Bilerico Editorial Advisory Board member, Michael Crawford; Senior Political writer for MetroWeekly in DC, Chris Geidner; and Director of Communication for Immigration Equality, Steve Ralls.

Same Sex Sunday had the single most heated debate in their history this week. Phil Reese actually had to jump in, play referee, and send the Lefties and Righties to their respective corners.

Check out what got the round table so fired up this week:
