On this week’s edition of Smile Politely Radio, we’re joined by Michelle Duennes from the University of Illinois’ Department of Entomology. She fills us in on National Pollinator Week and some of the events that happened this past weekend and throughout the month to celebrate big things done by tiny bugs — and, as we found out, other animals too. She also shared with us a couple of tunes that celebrate pollinators, and lots of great details about how there’s much more to pollination than just pretty flowers. It’s a show all about why you should care about pollination (you should), what it does (a lot), and how it makes things better (it definitely does).
For more info on pollinators and to find out what you can grow in your own backyard to help those bugs along, check out the Pollinator Partnership online, as well as the University of Illinois’ Pollinatarium.
Smile Politely Radio airs each Friday evening at 5:30 on WEFT 90.1 FM in Champaign, and is available as a podcast the following week.
