Kick off the weekend with a beer or several and some live music at the Iron Post. Boneyard Jazz Quintet is a versatile jazz group that specializes in standard tunes, and Wagon Fire is a Gypsy jazz band playing the music of Django Reinhardt and recorded by Musek Haus Productions. (RP)

The Undercut Collective is presenting their first show tonight, which fitttingly comes at an all-ages venue in Error Records. The Undercut Collective is a program concentrating on putting together all-ages concerts for the teens of the Champaign-Urbana area, per their Facebook page. Three musical acts will be taking the stage, and in addition to that, there will be a poetry reading by Ami Ali to accompany the music. Check out the show, as it’s only $3. A buck a band, folks. (PS)
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Parkland College Theatre, 7:30 p.m.
Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company borrows the stage at Parkland College Theatre to present a time-tested, audience-approved musical favorite! 7:30 p.m. performances on Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. Enjoy familiar songs and characters for the whole family in a production helmed by Stefanie Senior with musical director Tim Renner. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, The Station Theatre, 8 p.m.
Urbana’s venerable Celebration Company will put up its spin on Christopher Durang’s newest comedy this weekend, with all shows beginning at 8 p.m. Join Station Artistic Director Rick Orr (director) and his cast, including Gary Ambler, Barbara Ridenour, Jackie Loewenstein, Lindsey Gates-Markel, Max Tomaszewski, and Shawna Smith. This inventive spin on the plays of Anton Chekhov gets a delicious comedy twist in the friendly confines of the Station. (MG)

‘Grow Your Own’ Gardeners Day, Allerton Park (Monticello), 9 a.m.-12 p.m., free
If you’re getting excited about the spring planting season, take a drive on Saturday morning and check out this U of I Extension event. Join area gardeners for a morning of educational classes on topics like Tiny Greens, Tasty Tomatoes & Growing Vegetables in Small Spaces. (RP)
Doughnuts, Pandamonium Doughnuts pop up at [co][lab], 206 W Main Street, Urbana, 10 a.m., $1.50-$2.75
Last weekend’s pop up was super successful, and doughnuts were gone on each day after about an hour. My favorites were the orange pistachio and the maple bacon apple fritters. Don’t forget to grab some vegan doughnuts, too. Get your place in line early. (JH)
Stories & Beer, Mike ‘N Molly’s, 5 p.m., free
Stories & Beer will be hosting a handful of readers on Saturday afternoon/evening at Mike ‘N Molly’s. That’s right — go drink some beer (or whatever you like to drink), and listen to some folks read their stuff. Guests include Steve Davenport, Lindsey Gates-Markel, Thomas Luckie, Mallory Matyk, and Matthew Jager. Chicago Hot Dog Slider, Seven Saints, 32 E. Chester Street, Champaign, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., $3.49
Traditionalists, avert your eyes. This little slider is on the new menu. It comes with a Vienna beef hot dog, tomato, pickle, giardiniera, and yellow mustard on a poppy seed bun. It has surpassed the corned beef slider as my favorite. If you’re not feeling like a hot dog, get the chicken flautas plate, which is also a new menu item. (JH)
